Laurie Alberts Reading

Please join us for a reading by author Laurie Alberts on Monday, November 12th at 6:30 pm in Simpson Hall. 

Laurie is the author of three novels (Lost Daughters, The Price of Land in Shelby, and Tempting Fate); a story collection (Goodnight Silky Sullivan); and two memoirs (Fault Line and Between Revolutions: an American Romance with Russia).

She has received a Michener Award for the Novel, The Katherine Anne Porter Prize, the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Society Prize for short story, and an American Fiction award. Laurie attended the Iowa Writers Workshop and now teaches fiction and creative nonfiction in the VERMONT COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS MFA IN WRITING PROGRAM.

She has taught writing at the University of New Mexico and Hampshire College. She lives on a small farm with her husband and daughter and their Chevaux Canadiens (French Canadian horses).
